Dear ACA members and supporters,

Just a reminder about our upcoming AGM next week on Wednesday 24th July- we’d love to see you there and also have you consider being a member of our important executive committee.

Guest speaker Peter Gurkin, Senior Development Manager, from Places Victoria (developer of the Aurora Estate) will brief us on the continuing development of the Aurora Estate (town centres, community centre, roads, other facilities etc) at the event. There will be a short opportunity to ask the Places Victoria speaker questions on your topic of interest at the event.

The ACA was incorporated in September 2009 as a means for residents to become involved in the community.

Each year at our Annual General Meeting, current paid up members must nominate and vote in an Executive Committee to oversee the running of the ACA.   Without a functioning committee the ACA will cease to function.

This year, due to legislative changes, current paid up members will also have to vote on the adoption of new rules for governing the Association.

What does an executive committee do?

The ACA is run by an executive committee (President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer, Ordinary Members) who are committed to Epping North/ Wollert residents in wanting to connect them in their community, create opportunities for social gatherings and to take action on their behalf about local problems.

As a committee member it will take up some of your time as you will be required to:
– attend regular committee meetings (four plus the AGM),
– where possible attend quarterly general meetings and help with ACA events,
– and also raise issues on behalf of the community.

No previous committee experience is required to be part of the ACA executive committee, just an interest in improving and strengthening the local community, willingness to work as part of a team, and the ability to reliably to attend scheduled meetings/ events. How do I stand for an executive committee role?

People must be a current ACA member and complete a nomination form to be eligible to take on an executive committee role.  Please ensure you are nominated and seconded by two different ACA members.  Forms can be submitted any time up to immediately before the AGM  in person- please email enquiry@aurora.asn.au to discuss and organise the nomination.  Signed hard copy forms returned via post (to 2 Snugburgh Way, Epping North, Victoria 3076) need to be received at least 24 hours before the event.
