To celebrate the great taste of locally grown organic seasonal food, Sunday 22 April 2012 marks the date for the first Home Harvest Regional Feast – and you can be there!
City of Whittlesea are looking for volunteers to grow and supply the produce for the Feast. It does not matter what your level of experience is, or how green your thumbs are, everyone is invited to take part and get growing. Plenty of advice and support will be provided to volunteer growers, as well as a small gift of seeds to start you on your way!
In return for your efforts you will enjoy the fruits of your labour at the Feast where trained chefs using seasonal menus will turn the harvest into a banquet of culinary delight.
The Feast is coordinated by the Nillumbik Shire Council, and the City of Whittlesea is a partner in this fantastic new event. Other supporting organisations include Sustainable Gardening Australia, The Diggers Club and Local Food Connect.
